Welcome to the world of the Moon Mermaids. The Moon Mermaids originated from the moon, where they lived happily as Moon Fairies, with beautiful wings and legs. But one day, their world was shattered when the wicked witch, Olgary took over the moon. To ensure that their daughters Tella and Tiana were not killed, King Mox and Queen Pelia helped them to escape with two stars, Sari and Mari accompanying them. They were given two moonstone necklaces to protect them from Olgary's spell. As they escaped, the wicked witch Olgary cursed
By the light of the moon,
May you and your descendants be cursed,
For the rest of your lives.
Never a fairy,
Never to return.
Cursed be the door by which you enter the sea,
If you leave through it,
May you die.
May this spell seek you forever,
And never let you lie.
When Tella and Tiana entered the sea, they were transformed into two beautiful mermaids, their wings wrapping around their legs to form beautiful golden tails, that shone when the moon was full. Sari and Mari became two beautiful starfishes.
